New Site Design

I love changing my site design whenever I come across another home-made blog on the internet somewhere. Well today is my lucky day– it’s sunny out (finally) and I have my motorbike road test this afternoon and I’m shittn bricks if I may say so. Thought I was over this pressure stuff since I did profession of faith, and my class 5 road test. AHH. Okay it’s really not that big of a deal. However, my awesome new boots ARE a big deal.

I feel compelled to share that shoulder checking is something you should always do. Cuz some idiot nearly killed me when I was driving my car to Langley yesterday when they decided to pass the semi in front of them when I was in the lane beside them. JERKS.

I haven’t eaten breakfast yet and I’m sittin in my pjs, have nasty hair, and have my magic hot water bottle on my lap to try alleviate some female pain. Yes, I am the picture of attraction. Want to come over and have a look? Address: 2579 Tulip Crescent, Abbotsford. (Yes stalkers, I gave you my old address… feel free to bother our old landlords though if you are in the area… maybe tell them to get rid of the mould before any more unsuspecting renters get sinus infections… hosers.) Should really go shower so that I can go for a ride and practice before my 3:00 test… gotta break in my biker boots so I don’t drop my bike or something graceful like that.

Oh we had a grand party for my Grandparents 60th anniversary. They got a letter from the Queen and the Governer General and a bunch of other people. Never knew that happened on your DIAMOND anniversary. It’s pretty neat-o. We got them a large digital photoframe with a memory card full of their million kids and grandkids and greatgrandkids (put together by their favourite granddaughter of course… (me duh) har har.). They were so amazed by it, it was kind of cute. All they have to do is flick the power switch and it goes right away. Anyway, one thing I learned is, they shouldn’t have gotten me to explain how it works, you should really get someone who is less tech-savy so that the old people can understand. It’s hard to explain something complicated like a digital picture frame in a few nice words, and not sound like an idiot.. you should try it… it’s not possible: “this magical picture frame will magically show photos of your grandkids because it is a very smart pictureframe and it has a film? inside it and um, it is like a tv and it plays it? hmm… you have no idea what I’m talking about do you?” (You can give your own interpretation in a lovely comment. I am still wondering how to explain a digital picture frame to someone who has no idea about technology.

  1. nice design!
all the best with your test…

  2. Here’s how to explain the photo frame to the technologically un-inclined.

    1. Here is the memory (present memory card). This is where all the pictures are saved. (That in itself should be impressive solely because of the minuteness of the card.)
    2. Here is a simple computer (pat photo frame by “brain” looking area of it) that reads the memory (show memory card) and shows it to you on the screen (point at screen).
    3. Any questions? (Use big words to answer questions to discourage further technical intercourse.)

p.s. Wishing you all the best on the road test!! I’m rooting for you!!

  3. haha we gave my grandparents a digital photo frame for their anniversary as well and while my grandpa was not confused by it my grandma could not figure it out. It doesn’t help that she doesn’t remember anything you tell her and she would ask you how it works again right after you finished explaining it. But yes, it’s cute how they have no idea how all this new technology works. I don’t either but I get the basics at least! Hope you road test is going (did go) good!!

  4. actually, the 60th anniversary is the diamond, 25 years is the silver ;-)
If I’m not mistaken, you may request a letter for the big anniversaries, I might be wrong though. It is neat hey?
What a great gift idea for them, sure hope they manage to work it on their own. If not I’m sure you’ll have no problem going over there for them hehe.

  5. Yes, it’s the diamond anniversary and, yes, those letters have to be requested. Uncle Ben spent hours (jj) sending them to all the different dignitaries.
